Questions
Why does my flight seem to take less time than it does?
Because the clocks move while you fly. Flying east you lose hours to the time difference, and flying west you gain them back. The planner shows the real elapsed time and the clock change separately.
How does it handle daylight saving time?
It uses the IANA time-zone rules built into your browser, so offsets are worked out for the exact date and time you choose, including the days clocks change. If a local time doesn’t exist because the clocks jump forward, the planner tells you which time it used instead.
Can I arrive before I left?
On the clock, yes. Flights west across the International Date Line, or long westbound flights, can land at an earlier local time or date than they departed. The planner flags that with a “−1 day” marker.
