A dummy ticket is not a booking

A dummy or sample ticket is not a confirmed airline booking, and must never be presented as one. It contains no booking reference or ticket number, and nobody can look it up.

When you need a real reservation instead

“Dummy ticket” covers very different things, from a harmless planning mock-up to a forged booking. This tool makes only the first kind. If a consulate, airline or border officer will rely on your document as proof that a booking exists, give them a booking that exists.

Read dummy tickets explained for the three meanings of the term and the legitimate ways to hold a seat. If you only want a clean travel plan, theflight itinerary builder is the same engine with plan-focused wording. Before you travel, run through the itinerary checklist.

Acceptable use

Presenting a sample as a reservation or ticket is misuse of this tool, and may be a criminal offence. See our acceptable-use policy.

Questions

Is a dummy ticket a real flight reservation?

No. What this tool makes is a sample flight ticket for planning. It doesn’t exist in any airline system and can’t be looked up. If you need a reservation that can be checked, use an airline fare hold, a refundable fare or a travel agent.

Can I use a dummy ticket for a visa application?

Only if the official checklist asks for a proposed itinerary and you describe the document honestly as a plan. If it asks for a flight reservation or booking, a sample is the wrong document, so get a real reservation instead.

What’s the difference between a dummy ticket and a dummy air ticket?

Nothing. People use dummy ticket, dummy flight ticket and dummy air ticket for the same thing. What matters is whether it’s a planning sample (like this), a held reservation, or a forged document, which is fraud.

Why can I enter a flight number?

So your sample matches the schedule you’re considering. Whatever you type is shown as you typed it and marked as unverified. We never generate flight numbers, booking references or ticket numbers ourselves.

Does it cost anything or store my details?

It’s free and needs no account. It runs in your browser, doesn’t ask for your name or passport, and nothing you enter is stored on our servers.
