Itinerary builder
How the itinerary builder works
Three inputs, a few calculations, and a document that is honest about what it is.
1. You choose airports and dates
The airport search matches city names, airport names and three-letter IATA codes against our planning dataset. It runs entirely in your browser, so nothing you type is sent to us.
2. We calculate the route
- Distance is the great-circle distance between the two airports’ coordinates, using the haversine formula and a mean Earth radius of 6,371 km. Real flight paths are usually a little longer because of airways, winds and air-traffic control.
- Clock change compares each airport’s time zone on your travel date, so daylight-saving changes are included.
3. You get a sample, clearly marked
The document carries a banner, a stamp and a tiled watermark reading SAMPLE · NOT VALID FOR TRAVEL. It has a plan reference generated in your browser, and it never includes booking references, PNRs, ticket numbers, barcodes or airline logos. Flight numbers and times appear only if you enter them, and are labelled unverified. You can print it (A4 or Letter, or save as PDF) or copy a plain-text summary, and every format keeps the not-valid-for-travel line.
What the builder doesn’t do
It doesn’t search fares, hold seats or book anything. If you need a reservation that an airline or consulate can check, see legitimate ways to get a real reservation.
