Methodology
How we research, write and check
Travel rules change and differ by passport. Our job is to explain the concepts clearly and point you to whoever makes the rules.
Sources come first
Statements about visa, entry or airline requirements are linked to an official source, such as a government, consulate, official visa application centre or airline. Where rules vary by nationality or destination, we say so instead of generalising.
Dates on everything that changes
Every guide shows when it was last updated. Guides with time-sensitive facts also show when those facts were last reviewed against the sources.
Computed, not copied
Distances, headings, time differences and local times are calculated from coordinates and time-zone rules each time a page or tool runs, so they can’t drift out of date the way stored figures can.
Examples are fictional
Example documents use placeholder names and plan references. We never invent flight numbers, booking references or ticket numbers, even in examples. On tools, a flight number appears only when a user types it in.
